AI search optimization
Help search systems understand what your business does.
Search results increasingly get summarised before anyone clicks. That rewards businesses whose facts are unambiguous and whose pages answer the question directly — and it quietly penalises the ones that are hard to read.
- What it coversClear business facts, direct answers, crawlable pages and accurate structured data.
- What it is notNot a channel into AI systems. No promised mention anywhere, and no invented "AI ranking score".
- How it is measuredCrawlability, factual consistency, structured data validity and your own search and referral data.
The problem this solves
Your business is hard to summarise.
Read a typical small-business homepage as a stranger and try to answer three questions: what exactly do they sell, who is it for, and where do they do it. If the answers require inference, every system describing your business — a search engine, an assistant, or a customer skimming on a phone — is guessing.
The work here is removing the guesswork: stating the facts plainly, in the places that get read, consistently enough that nothing contradicts anything else.
Scope
Readiness work, specifically.
Depth and editorial volume are agreed in writing. For most businesses this starts with a baseline assessment and a short list of things that are actually wrong.
Included
- Clear business facts in one authoritative place: what you do, who you do it for, where you work, how you are contacted, and what you are called. Stated consistently across the site and your profile.
- Direct answers to the questions customers actually ask, written as answers rather than as marketing copy that circles the point.
- Crawlable, server-rendered pages. Content that only appears after a script runs is content that many systems never see.
- Accurate structured data that describes what genuinely exists — organisation details, services, articles and real FAQs.
- A baseline assessment of how your business is currently described, and what is ambiguous or contradictory about it.
Not offered, at any price
- A promise that ChatGPT, Gemini, Copilot or any assistant will recommend you. No one controls that, and no one can sell it.
- An "AI ranking score". There is no such published metric; a number like that is invented to look like progress.
- No guaranteed indexing, and no privileged submission channels into AI systems. These do not exist for agencies.
- Structured data describing ratings, awards, offices or opening hours that are not real. Marking up things that do not exist is a penalty risk, not a tactic.
- Pages written for machines that read badly to the humans who land on them.
Questions
Reasonable scepticism, answered.
Is this just SEO with a new name?
It shares most of its foundation with SEO, and we will not pretend otherwise. The differences are emphasis: unambiguous entity facts, answer-shaped content, and structured data accuracy matter more when a system is summarising you rather than linking to you.
Can you get our business cited in AI answers?
No. We can make your business easier to describe accurately, which is the part that is within anyone’s control. Whether a given system cites you is its decision.
How will we know whether it worked?
Through the things that can genuinely be checked — crawlability, consistency, valid structured data, and your own search and referral data. We will not manufacture a score to show movement.
Do you use AI to write the content?
We use AI assistance in drafting, and a person reviews and is accountable for everything published. We do not publish unreviewed generated text on a client site.
Is this worth doing yet?
For most businesses the honest answer is that the underlying work — accurate facts, clear service pages, crawlable content — is worth doing regardless of what AI search becomes. That is why we scope it as readiness rather than as a separate growth channel.
Often scoped together
What usually sits alongside this.
This work shares most of its foundation with the two below, which is why they are usually scoped together.
- SEO — Improve site structure, service information and the paths customers use to reach you.
- Website maintenance — Planned website updates, content changes and functional checks within a clear scope.
- Markets we serve — where this work is delivered today, and how remote management actually runs.
- Contact — describe the business and we will say where we would start.
Let's start with a conversation
Start with how your business reads today.
A baseline assessment tells you what is ambiguous, inconsistent or invisible about the way your business is currently described. That is useful whether or not you do anything else with us.
